After leaving Lake Jackson, our hometown at the time, at around 2:30 p.m. we arrived in San Antonio at approximately 7:00 p.m., we checked into our hotel and settled down for the night to begin our exploring the next morning.
The next day, Saturday, we proceeded to walk downtown in the rain. We arrived at the Alamo at around 2:00 p.m. and stayed until approximately 3:00 p.m. We visited a wax museum and then Ripley's Believe It or Not museum before heading back to the hotel to retire for the night.
Sunday, we explored the Market Square and then, my favorite, we drove to a famous steakhouse in Texas called the Little Red Barn. We enjoyed delicious 16 ounce steaks to help us sleep the night away.
La Villia was our next visit, occuring on Monday. It continued to rain but we did not stop our exploring. We drove to the Mission Trails and then to the Blue Star for oysters and trout. Mmmmmm.
Tuesday, we took a trolley ride to the IMax theatre between 11:00 and 11:45 a.m. and then to a bookstore between 2:15 and 3:00 p.m. We coursed the River Walk before boarding a trolley ride to the Sunset Station. We saw a cathedral and the courthouse and then on to the Tower of America around 3:30-4:30 p.m. The institute of Texan Culture was next on our list from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. To finish the day, we took a boat ride down the river.
On the last day, Wednesday, we drove a four hour trip back home to rest.
