| Our trip to Paris, France occured between November 2 and November 9. | |||||||||
Wednesday, November 3, we visited the Place de la Concorde on the way to Jardine de Tuleries and the Lourve Museum before having lunch. After eating lunch at around 1:15 p.m., we walked to Notre Dame to start exploring a grandois, immensely historical, literary and artful place. We waited from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m.in line before we finally entered and took many pictures of the architecture, the frescoes and other paintings. At 4:40 we allowed to explore a place not very often mentioned when speaking of the old church, its crypt or tomb. The crypt is below Notre Dame and is dark, cold and wet. The crypt is basically a narrow walkway that, on both sides, is layered with human bones, legs, arms and skulls mostly from World War II. The crypt is very somber reachs to the center of your soul to see that so many lives that were taken. The keepers of the crypt have taken special precautions, inspecting people when exiting the tomb as many people have stolen and plundered bones and artifacts for personal and public collections. After this memorable and unforgettable experience we walked back to the hotel at 5:45 p.m. The next day, Thursday, November 4, the Arc de Triomphe (Triumph Arche) was our first place to visit at around 9:30 a.m. after which we walked around Champs-E'lyse'es. By 10:30 a.m., we had reached the Eiffel Tower and then walked to the Place de Challiot. Finally, we took a boat ride on the Seine River running through the middle of Paris. |
